Kajak Sport Paddle Float

Our Paddle Float is designed for quick and reliable use during self-rescue situations. The main chamber can be rapidly inflated through the air valve tube, allowing fast deployment when needed. A simple buckle strap secures the float to the paddle to keep it in place during re-entry (note that the buckle is less secure when used with Greenland paddles).

For additional safety, the float features a dual-chamber construction with a separate backup chamber. An internal material layer separates the chambers, providing redundancy in case the main inflation tube becomes damaged or cannot be used. The backup chamber can be inflated through the valve located at the base of the float.

The float is ideally used as a stability aid during heel hook self-rescues or back-deck re-entries, helping paddlers regain balance while re-entering the kayak. It is designed to assist balance rather than fully support the paddler’s weight.

As with all rescue techniques, practice is essential to develop proper skills and confidence. Training with a partner or under professional instruction is strongly recommended.
